Bio:

Moved from Norway at five years old. Has lived in various places in the U.S. since then. He’s one of those kids who got in trouble a lot in school because he was bored and liked to push the limits, much to his parents’ exasperation. Instead of having it beaten out of him through the repressive regime known as Public Education, it just made him develop defenses against anyone telling him what to do.
As such, the word and the concept of “taboo” started to tick Clyde off. Reading Frankenstein , his thought was “If the Doctor hadn’t abandoned the monster, there wouldn’t have been anything wrong with his experiment.” Reading Lovecraft made him disappointed when he found out that The Necronomicon wasn’t a real book, as he wanted to see what all the fuss was about. He’s tried all sorts of drugs just because he was told not to, but he’s found that most of them really are bad, so that phase of his life is more or less over, though he may smoke a bit of pot now and then. No sexual deviancy is taboo to the man except those practices that will land him in jail. Can’t experiment with no-no’s if you have no freedom after all.
Eventually he discovered Kurt Vonnegut’s work and read Cat’s Cradle. He thought the idea of Bokononism was rather hilarious, and he figured there probably weren’t many practicing Bokononists around, so he decided to research it and pick up the lingo associated with it. It’s impossible to practice Bokononism any way but ironically, so whenever he mentions a karass or a granfaloon, it’s in a mock-reverential tone. What he does take seriously, however, is his own personal sense of anti-authoritarianism. If someone tells him not to do something, he’ll damned well make sure he makes it as hard as possible for that person to keep him from doing it. He has been arrested a couple times for trespassing and the like, but so far has managed to be smart enough to keep out of serious trouble.
Oh by the way, he’s in MENSA because he loves the idea of an organization of intellectual, elitist assholes, and he qualified both in spirit and in letter, so…

He’s currently attending a CU Master’s program for Electrical Engineering with a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He loves to tinker with stuff and half-hopes to bring on a Robot Apocalypse just to scare people enough to become less complacent. But, again, it’s a cynical half-hope, not something he’s working toward. He just likes tinkering with this new form of human achievement.

Age: 25

Personality: Frequently sarcastic, but good-humored. Only vindictive toward people he has developed a distaste for (usually those with an authoritarian demeanor); friends only get gentle ribbing, and those he doesn’t know, he watches before talking to to get a feel for how they act. Constantly trying to get people to think outside of their narrow mindsets by playing Devil’s Advocate.
